SPLINE ON MULTIPIECE BLANKS

i have difficulty finding the spline on 4 and 5 piece blanks except the tip and second sections. does the 3/4 sections really matter unless the difference is real obvious.

You must be from the old school as am I. I was taught the term "SPLINE" not SPINE as well. LOL!!

Bill, here’s the method I use. Spine each section starting with the tip and assemble. Verify the spine each time you assemble a new section. If you cannot confidently locate the spine on the next section, assemble it and locate the spine on the assembled sections. If it is not as previously marked, rotate the bottom section until the spine is where you had it marked, then repeat until the rod is fully assembled.
