i'm guessing it'll work, but i suspect it's much larger than what's genarally recommended. i use size 10 stripping guides on my 7'-8'6" fly rods, 3, 4 and 5 weights.

Try an 8 0r 10 B/Clag Fuji Alconite stripper guide and the lightest singlefoot wire guides to the tip. Ralph If at first you don't succeed, go fishing, then try, try again. Re: Dan Craft 6ft 10in #1

#12 is way too big for such a small rod, in my opinion. A #8 or #10 is much more appropriate. If it were me, I'd do a #8 Titan since they have nice thin rings.
The (AmTak)Titan guides are great and you could get a traditional looking double footed guide that'd weigh about the same as a single foot alconite, etc. FishStix can set you up with what you need. Scott Kinney The Longest Cast Fly Rods [www.thelongestcast.com] Re: Dan Craft 6ft 10in #1

Bryan--I'm not sure I would go smaller, though it's certainly more acceptable to do so! Most would consider a #10 to be "oversize" on a 1wt, but truthfully things don't change that much in terms of the dynamic of the cast, etc. I found a noticeable increase in smoothness and shootability in using #12's on rods that many would use 8's or 10's on. It will look larger than the "traditional" scale, but who cares? Best thing to do would be to test cast the rod with a 10 and 12 and see if you think one stands out. Scott's advice on the Titan guide makes sense--fine ring for a fine rod.
