Purglas Surf Rod Blank

Looking to build or perhaps have built a Purglas surf rod. PSFB35010-3P 11' 6", 11-18 ibs, 1-3 oz. Looking for comment from anyone who has fished and/or built a Purglas rod. Planned use surf casting salt water. Wondering how the blanks are and if any trouble with using the 3 piece model. Need the 3 piece for travel as its a plane ride or long drive to the ocean. Thanks, Ken

I like the ferrules on their surf blanks, wrapped at the factory with a layer of graphite or fiberglass - no addtional wrapping required.
