I remember Bullard's Co. and catalog etc. but never used any of his stuff as I was a raw rookie in those days and bought most of my stuff locally. The "FINISH" I grew up on was Invirotex, you know the stuff table tops are made of. It didn't turn yellow or amber out in the sun, it turned brown and it cracked but it was so much easier to use than many coats of varnish it was popular. We talk about the "Good Ole Days", thing is they weren't so good when we were going thru them.Jesse Re: Epoxy vs. Sun

Enviro-Tex, yes I know of one shop that used it and their surf rods built on white Fenglass blanks really showed just how brown that stuff got. But it was fairly cheap when bought by the gallon and not at all hard to use.
