Turning a matte blank into a gloss blank

I have a request for a spinning rod and I have found a blank with all the required specifications, except that it is a matte blank and the customer wants a gloss blank. Is Permagloss the way to go? And are there any special tips that will help me get it right the first time? I read Ralph's article in the library but I figured with all the expertise on this board there would be some do's and don't's that I don't know about.

See the post below "I must be getting old." The same polishing technique would apply, but you could probably skip the sanding. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
