Hi all
I was just wondering if anyone has ever had any experience building the Fish Eagle® II Rod Blanks from Cabela's I am looking at the Steelhead Rod Blanks. They are very cheap in price $24.99 for a 9' light action blank. So I was wondering if the are of good quality? I am planing on building a rod for my Fiancé and want one that will last her a while. If they are not of good quality can some one point me in the Direction of a good blank that is the color blue. Since that is what she has requested an all blue rod, guides, thread she also wants a blue reel to go with it. any input would be great on the blanks also if anyuone knows where i can find blue single foot spinning guides it would be appreciated aswell. Thank you Tyler Re: Rod balnks?

Fish Eagle blanks are fine, but the Forecast blanks mentioned above beat them hands down. They are built by steelheaders for steelheaders. American Tackle also make a blue framed guides with ceramic gold rings and blue hooded reelseats.
The black framed blue ringed guides are a favorite of mine as they give a little color with no flash. The TICH guides are a fine guide also. Schneider's guides are a little cheaper than the Am Tack guides but the quality is right up there. I believe he uses the same guides made by the blank maker above. Re: Rod balnks?

Tyler,
I second the comments made in favor of the Batson blanks! Although I have not built on any of Cabella's blanks and therfore cannot speak to their quality regardless of price. You will not get the "Rainshadow's" quite as cheap as the Cabella's blanks but you will not be dissappointed. Batson Ent. is a sponcor of this board also! Good luck and smooth wraps which ever you choose! Raymond Adams Eventually, all things merge, and a river runs through it.. Re: Rod balnks?

Rainshadows are a great blank without having to break the bank. They are tough also.
