guide placement on a 9''6

hello all having a little trouble with guide placement on this one im building on a g.loomis 9''6 med.power with a fast action i kinda followed the stadic guide placement and ended up with eleven guides 12 with the tip does this seem right any help would be appreciated...... It sounds fine. Trust your static guide placement to dictate where the guides need to go. You're probably doing everything right and as you gain more experience you'll have more confidence in your own findings.
11 guides plus top is not at all out of line for a rod of that length. ................ Re: guide placement on a 9''6

i think your more then right tom trying new things is always frustrating when it comes to a customers rod. need to trust what im doing key word. its a little differnt then the way i put the guides on before thanks tom. by the way wife says im to anul and i need to quit talking to myself and the kids think im going crazy hope i aint alone in that department either lol Re: guide placement on a 9''6

I have a St. Croix 9'6" 8wt that ended up with 12 guides and a top. I kept them small and light and the rod is sweet. Re: guide placement on a 9''6

Sounds like a ST11432 maybe. A fine blank. The IST Rainshadow and XSH Lamiglas blanks are also top notch. The Rainshadows are a great value. They all seem to use your amount of guides. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
