Online? Not yet, although this site will have one before the summer is out if I can get it finished.

Mud Hole has a nice rod building tutorial in their catalog, that might be one place to start.

Best I've seen on-line is this: [flyanglersonline.com]

And while it has lots of good stuff and takes things step by step, the pics are a bit sparse.

Mud Hole Tackle (sponsor link on left of monitor screen) has links to several on line tutorials - look for Rod Builidng 101 on the left side of their home page. I don't know if any of these sites give enough information for you but they are worth a shot.

Spend $50 on a couple of books or a DVD or 2, you'll have all the info you need.

Dick,

The Fly Anglers Online articles are what got me started. Definitely a good place to start.

$15 bucks for the book Rodbuilding Guide by Tom Kirkman (from any of the sponsors on the left) will be the best investment you will ever make in this hobby. Step by step instructions on every aspect of building a rod with over 100 photos. That and the Library, FAQ, and glossary pages above will get you on your way to total addiction!!

While recently visiting my daughter in Orlando I made a "whats new" visit to Mudhole. While there I picked up Ken Preston's DVD on rodbuilding. Complete start to finish rod building instruction in an easy to digest format with a few neat tricks thrown in ! It can't be beat for the price in my opinion.

I agree with Roger. Ken's DVD on rod building is very complete. Ken's DVD, combined with Tom's book and this website will get the new builder off to a great start.
