How to thin Flexcoat

Hello from Germany,

maybe you can give me a helping hand ?

When do I have to apply a thinner ( acetone or isopropylalcohol) to Flexcoat,
before mixing the two components together or after ??

Thanks in advance

Joachim

Generally, you shouldn't thin it at all. I know their website recommends it, but the actual epoxy manufacturer does not.

However, if you're sure you want to do this, use the most volatile solvent, such as acetone. Add the resin or catalyst to the mix cup, then add a few drops of the acetone (it doesn't take much to make a noticeable difference so go easy here) and then add the other component and mix.

Good morning Joachim,
I dilute the Flex Coat after I have mixed it. Becareful and follow the instructions given on the Flex Coat web site. If you add too much acetone the epoxy will not set or will take a very long time.

I use flexcoat lite and use only three to foure dropps of thinner to my standard mix of 2drams after mixing is complete and never have had a problem, nice flowing epoxy and a few extra miuts working time.
