Great wrap finish

Greetings,
Just finish two rods where I decided to try something new for me. I decided to use metallic thread only to wrap. I also decided to use two coats of Flex Coat Lite finish. These were the thinnest coats I have every used. I figured if the thread was wet, that was good enough. I also decided to get the finish on fast and move on. I used the rod lathe to hold the rod but took off the belt so I could spin it by hand. Much faster than the dryer. I figure if I can get it on fast, it's thinner. I was 'trusting' the finish would do the best job of leveling. What a difference it made! No more footballs. It's so nice when a plan comes together! Re: Great wrap finish

Exactly - Put it on and then move along. Let the finish do what it knows how to do.

I do the same thing, although I apply it on my dryer and it turns out lovely. I have even applied only one coat with the FC Lite to some lighter rods and left it at that, minimalist and beautiful, IMHO. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
