Thread Art, diamond, tuna...

I’ started rodbuilding about two years ago. But I’ve never done any decorative on it. Now I would like to try something like a tuna or diamond on a rod. Can I find any instructions in the WWW (How to wrap it, step by step). I have now idea. Or can someone recommend me a book.

Thanks for your help.

Regards Pascal

I would recommend the Clemens Thread Art Book for the different cross wrap patterns OR the Visual Wrap program. They are sponsors of this site!!

For weaving I'd go to the Rod Maker Magazine articles for learning the color change procedure and then order up some patterns of the particular fish you want to weave.

Get Doc Ski's video or CD. It will take you through a Tuna weave (both silhouette and color change) step by step. Tom Kirkman's Rod Building Guide, will give you a step by step with photographs for a basic Diamond wrap. My articles in RodMaker magazine will also give you a how to on both silhouette and Color Change weaving.

If you want to weave, get Doc Ski's definitely. Videos are much better than books with pictures; much easier to learn from IMHO.
