Thread color ideas for Rainshadow

Hey guys,

I could use some suggestions on thread color for a Rainshadow RX7 Olive Green blank. I am planning on using polished Stainless Steel Batson Ceramics and a U3 Shiney Gunsmoke reel seat. The grip will be out of wild olive. This is my first build and I would like to have your input on thread colors. If anyone has some picts, I would not mind seeing them.

Rodney

i have been using gudbrod garnet with no cp. i also use silver tipping or inlays. looks elegant. for silver i have been using sulky metalic. its easier to handle than the gudbrod metalic.

Gudebrod dark green 5896 with no cp is almost an exact match for the blank color. Another striking color I like for the green blanks is chestnut 5274 with cp. Natural colors like green go well with other natural colors if you keep them in the same shade intensity I'm told.

Try the Garnet with Gudebrod metalic lime green trim. The trim really sets off the grrn in the blank with the garnet of the wraps. CP or no CP, it up to you.

Any of the reds and greens no CP also a color to look at may be #200 gold no CP looks like honey.
Try some wraps on the butt section of the blank and coat them. They can easyly be taken off when you put the handle on

Colors I've used.

Gudebrod brown & black classic twist gold trim
Purple trimmed with gold
Purple or blue trimmed with pearl
Navy trimmed with light green metallic (spring) I think
Burgandy & gold or silver - silver matches the label

I saw one of these on Saturday that a fellow builder brought over. He'd used Gudebrod A green (electra) hologram thread on it and it was really beautiful!! Trimmed off in gold metallic, too.

The best choice is garnet. Make sure you get a good spool. Some of the garnet that guys are getting is fuzzy. No cp looks great. I just finished my first green blank and I tried about all the colors. Stay away from all golds as they do not finish right. The dark colored blank shows through the thread. Just go with garnet and be done with it. It looks great.

Hope you are putting on a long handle if you are going to place thread wraps on the butt end of the blank to try out?

A lot of colors here LOL
