Even though I have made and sold some of these acid-wrapped rods, I had never fished with one until yesterday. I made myself an albacore rod with a Seeker 196H-7. Torium 30 reel. I've got two transition guides beyond the stripper, then four #8 boat guides on the bottom. Took a lot of kidding when I got on the boat, but when I hooked up about a 28 lb. Albacore yesterday morning and the rod was EXTREMELY STRAIGHT AND STABLE the kidding stopped and people started asking me where they could get a rod like that! (Just so happens I had some cards with me)! For our hard-fighting saltwater fish here on the coast of San Diego and Baja, I don't think I will ever make anything but Siral wrap rods to take. If you haven't experienced fighting a nice fish on an acid-wrap . . . what are you waiting for?! This forum gave me the idea. Thank you!

It's one thing to discuss them and speculate on how they'll work or not work, but when a fisherman actually uses one and hooks into a good fish, most arguments then quickly die. Your experience probably mirrors that of 95% of the fishermen who have ever used one.

Way to go, Jim! Half the battle is getting on the boat with such a "radical" rod! LOL! I take a lot of ribbing when I walk on with an Acid wrapped 10' Seeker Ex93H-10 jig stick! That is, of course, until I hook up and land that Yellowtail or Tuna! Those Left coast guys are slow to learn but they're catching on! FINALLY! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
