Ok guys....may I sneak in. I don't travel away from home to fish. Too much fishing available here. Don't hike, don't back pack in, don't mail out. I just want a good rod protection case to put in the car or truck and go fish. The canvas covered inexpensive ones with pvc pipe....from Wal-Mart.....uh....not too sure I care for them. I bought several for me and my wife and spent over night at a lake where nightime down in the 40's probably. Just left them on the hood of the truck over night and next day jumped in float tube and went out.....duh....left unused rods on the hood, but in their BLACK canvas covered protection tubes. . Now they are warped like a crescent moon! Does the ABS warp with heat? Now all mine are shaped in a curve. Not the best things to put my rods in. By the way, Wal-Mart and the internet bout all I have. I am in a small town 3.5 hours away from Phoenix with all the stores.

Thanks in advance......hope you don't mind Mr. Cunningham....but watch out for the plastic pipe tubes!

Jim......uh....there's too many Jim's.....just so you can pick out the Jim you want to shoot slings and arrows at.....I just became "Gem".....uh.....seriously....I have had too many identity mix-ups due to an all too common name that cost me about $300,000 and not even identity theft. I thas cost me 4 years of emplyoment and basically retired me before I was financially or mentally ready. Just authorities in different states with poor record keeping. So.........make it "GemRod" I will probably go to court and officially change my name to that.

Apologize for length of post.....just felt like saying why wanna change name.....'tis a serious thing wit me"

Yeah, Bill.....guess that is what I was trying to say......I know, sometimes I ramble, but my point was my pvc tubes warped. Not the rods, but it is not fun to look at your store bought rod cases and see them shaped in a curve when you go to put a rod in them.

Yes, if I could afford it I would go aluminum and not plastic pipe.
