I briefly did a search to find the answer, but I could not find it, so my apologies if this is a repeat.
I just put a post up about a couple guides being out of alignment, and it was suggested to remove them and properly align them. So obviously it's possible to remove the guide/wraps/epoxy safely or else it wouldn't have been suggested. How does one remove all that safely and cleanly? Thanks, Ryan Re: Removing guides

Ryan, I use a exacto knife to cut the finish and wrap off along the top of the guide foot, carefully cutting towards the legs to prevent the blade from slipping and doing any damage. Once the thread and finish has been cut from top of the guide foot, remove the guide and using your finger nails peel the remaining thread and finish from the blank.
Depends on how long the finish has been on the rod, I sometimes use a little heat from a blow dryer to soften the finish during the removal of a guide and in the removal of the remaining finish. Good Luck, Regards......Doug@ TCRds Re: Removing guides
