For wood handles pen blanks won't do. most are 3/4 or even 5/8 which is too small for even most reel seets. I've found for me minimum 7/8 for reel seats and for handles at least 1 1/4" preferably 1 1/2" stock. [www.woodworkerssource.net] has some nice wood. They now have a nice 6 pc assortment of exotic 18" x 1.5" blanks for $54 shipping included. The shipping can kill you on these orders. Also check out certainlywood.com limited selection but great deals on cocobolo (dark) and bocote.
Have fun, Tony Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
