Need Older Pac Bay Trad. Fly Blank Section

Good News: It was a 40-pound tarpon that did it, after he jumped into a mangrove tree during a violent hookset.
Bad News: Broke the butt section on an older Pac Bay Traditional (plum) rod blank. The rod was a four-piece 8-weight fly rod, and rather than build the whole rod again, I'm wondering if anyone out there has just the butt section of this rod laying around. I'm happy to purchase it for a fair price and pay for shipping. Plus I like casting the rod a whole lot and am sad to see it go...I'll contact Pac Bay as well, but I don't think they make this blank anymore. :( We were catching 10-15 pound baby tarpon in the 10,000 Islands when the 40-pounder hit. Jumped 4 feet straight into the air, landing in a mangrove tree. Truth be told, I think the ferrule was loose and that's why the rod broke, but strange that it was the butt section and not the second section up. Anyawy, thanks in advance... -- Doug Re: Need Older Pac Bay Trad. Fly Blank Section

If the tip slides up on the butt, it acts in sort of a cantilever fashion and can and often will snap the male end of the ferrule.
Hope you find a butt section, but there is no guarantee that it'll fit your tip. Multi-piece ferrules are hand fitted, one by one. ............. Re: Need Older Pac Bay Trad. Fly Blank Section

See quite a few Pac Bay Traditionals and Rainforests on @#$%& sites. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
