What guides look good with a nickle silver reel seat?

I want to build a 9' 4wt on a St Croix SCV blank (which is a glossy brown color). I like the Struble U20 reel seat. My question is what single foot guides would look good with this build? I would prefer ceramic guides if possible.

best regards,
Michael

The chrome Fuji Alconites look nice with the U-20.

Michael, I agree with Spencer. The CLAG Alconites have my vote, too. Ralph

Michael,

Considering you are building on a superb high end blank I would recommend matching it with guides that are of the same premier quality. Fuji Titanium SIC (unless you want to spring for the Cermets) or at the least the Amtak Titans; althought their black Nanolite rings are not as eye pleasing to me. As per Emory Harry's fine article on guide weight and its effect on rod performance in the current RodMaker issue this blank will really benefit from light Titanium guides. Their rust free quality is an added bonus. Quality is beautiful and, aesthetically speaking, Titanium guides look great on a rod with nickel silver seat jewelry. I have an older green SCV spinning blank and would not think of useing anything but Titaium guides on it. I will be selecting the reel seat cosmetics to match the titanium guides. The guides are more important to the performance of the rod than the reel seat, so I start by selecting them and work from there.

Dave

Thanks all. Dave, you make a compelling case on the titanium guides. I was leaning that way and wanted to see if anyone else had an opinion on them.

thanks!
Michael
