This is the first attempt at split diamonds. I have not decided on the butt wrap yet and have been practicing ad tearing off. THi had since been torn off.

Okay, the only thing I see is that your centers wander a bit as you move along the rod. It's very important to make sure the first few crosses are all centered and along the exact same axis. I know this can be a problem but if you'll run a straightedge down the wrap centers after you make the first few passes you can see if any are off. If they are, use your thumbnail or a burnishing tool to nudge them back in line. Once you've gotten them straight with each other, they should stay that way for the rest of the wrap.

Other than that I thought it was a great first attempt. Keep at it.
