Reel Seat Fix?

I have a bunch of discount rods that the reel seat spins on. If I put any money into these rods I will basically eat up any profit that might be there. Without cutting the seat off and redoing the handle, is there anyway to fix this. The only way I could think of, was to drill a hole and use a syringe to inject epoxy into the reel seat. I am sure this idea has been shot down before but I didn't have any luck with my searches. Is this a possible plan. What epoxy would be best. something that flows. These are just cheap jap. factory rods. Any help or opinions would be appriciated. Thanks Matt

Matthew,
I have actually had good luck doing that very same thing on a customers cheap rod. He said he didnt want to spend the kind of money it would of taken for me to fix it right, so I gave it a shot. I got a large needle from the local feed store here and attached it to a syringe. Drilled my hole in the channel that the front hood rides in, shot as much epoxy as I could get in there while spinning the seat and let it sit. I fished with him the other day and its still holding together fine. I say its worth a try.
Hope this helps,
Noel

Matthew,
Sometimes this problem can be fixed by using a big syringe, as Noel suggested, but just sticking the needle through the cork into the space under the reel seat and injecting as much epoxy as possible into this space under both ends of the end of the reel seat.

I used the regular 2 part Devcon epoxy from the local get-it-all store

The Devcon works very good, it's watery and runs in well. I have put a reel on, tightened the nut, marked, take the reel off and drill a hole that will be covered. Don't go though the blank. Then turn the seat and try to get as much of what ever is in there out. Allien the seat and pour in your epoxy.
If you can over fill it, and when dry file the epoxy to match the threads and color with a marker
