are there any back issues of rodbuilder that describe the blanks as to what classification the rods are. For example IM6, IM7, SC II, and so on, or can anyone out there help me with this issue.

You're mixing up graphite fibers with rod series. IM6 is a graphite fiber classification and can be used to make rods of widely different actions and powers. The fiber doesn't determine action or power. SCII is a trade name for a series of rods that St. Croix sells. They may be made from IM6 or another fiber.

It's doubtful you can find out who makes the rods for Gander Mountain, and even if you did, what they build for Gander Mt. may be proprietary and not available from them directly as blanks.

Most likely anything with Gander Mountain's name on it is made offshore by whatever subcontractor will build it cheaper that particular month.

How are rods classified? I see all these ratings or whatever it is called IM6, IM7, SCII, SC V. When I get asked to build a rod from someone, how do i determine what the rod blank shall be? Is there anything in a past issue of Rodbuilder that would help a builder determine the correct rod for the person? I see everyone coming here asking for suggestions, but was wondering if there is anything published to tell you how to figure a correct rod for the fishing person.
