Wondering if anyone knows the exact colors and a supplier for the red and gold used in older St. Croix rods. Thanks for your help. Looking to make a rod to match my older factory rods that I still use.

It was almost surely Gudebrod and their colors haven't changed too much over the years. There are a handful that have been discontiued, but I think what you have there can still be matched.

I'm pretty sure that older red/gold was standard Gudebrod Garnet, no CP, and metallic gold. I have redone broken guides with that and can see no difference.

Thanks. What is CP?

CP is color preserver, which some custom builders use on thread wraps, but which is not normally used for finished retail rods. If this is new to you, be aware that Gudebrod Garnet will look bright on the thread spool, but will darken when coated with epoxy (with no CP), to match the look of the older model St. Croix rods.
