thanks for all the advice earlier. I was curious why the blank would break clean. there was no splintering just a clean break?....thanks again Re: broken blank question? add on

A sharp hit or fracture (like scoring/cutting a piece of glass) could account for it. 98% to 99% of all rod breakages are the fault of the fisherman, even though he may not know it. Failures don't always occur at the time of the original damage - they can take place afterwards leading the fisherman to believe that he didn't do anything to cause the breakage.

No ken, it broke between the 4th and 5th guide, no cause to me sharpening the quide feet too much. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
