Best CP to buy?

Need to order some color preserver. I never use it, but getting ready to do a rod with white underwraps. What's the best all round color preserver for a combination of ease of use and color preservation?

In my humble opinion, I would only consider Gudbrod 811. It is the best. Starts out clear and stays that way.

I have my best results with Brillance. You have to let this one dry a bit longer, but have never had a problem with it.

I just switched to 811. You might have to thin it a bit because it sometimes comes thick. But it retains the orginal color of your thread better than anything else I've used.

What type of alcohol? Denatured or the rubbing stuff?

I did a feather inlay last night and used 811 thinned with isopropyl. The inlay was done over thread so I put a coat of 811 first on the thread and then layed the feather on it. The tread looks good so I guess the isopropyl is what I will keep on using. It took me a while to guess at the right mixture. I kept getting a real gummy mess at first.
