Help me out with colors... gold/silver

Friend of mine is having me wrap two rods for him. He said to go with any colors, so I went with blue reel seat and gimbal on one rod (which came out real nice), and gold on the other. Problem is I purchased the regular HD trolling guides (couldn't justify paying double the price just for the gold color), forgetting that I had a gold reel seat and gimbal to match.

So now the handles assembled.... what direction to go in? Pay $100 for gold guides, or try to wrap to match. Right now I'm thinking the latter.

So I'm thinking silver underwraps w/ gold trim bands and candy apple red overwrap w/ no CP to get the candy effect. What do you all think? Electra or not? I've got both, so can go either way. Also toyed with gold and silver trims, but don't think would get as good of an effect with the red.

Just finished my flocked foregrip, pretty easy but much messier than I think anyone can imagine till they do it themselves. Can't wait to check it out in a couple days.

Phil

Pretty hard to go wrong with metallic gold( I like "J" metallic govt gold) and standard nylon guidewraps.........

Any guidewrap color will go with the gold metallic.

I am not a fan of mixing gold and silver metallic together...................

Sounds like you are using Aftco Roller Guides, if so , you can buy just the gold rollers for the black or chrome frames to tie in with the gold reel seat. Jesse

Thanks for the info. Didn't know you could buy just the rollers. Gold rollers look OK with silver frames?
