Okay I've forgotten. On a graphite rod with a stuck ferrule, do you apply heat or cold to the area?

Cold to the male joint, heat to the female joint.

I would probably just add ice to the whole area, or sit it in front of an air conditioner for an hour or so. That usually does the trick.

I've clasped a handful of ice around a stuck ferrule on a tip over butt fly rod and within a few minutes was able to disassemble.

Hello Shawn
Ice it and it should come unstuck.
I suggest using U40 Ferrule Lube after it is unstuck. U 40 Ferrule Lube will reduce wear, clean the ferrule, keep it togeather and will come apart when you want it too. It really work very well.
