Have a sample in hand but not actually tried the Rec Recoils. I've dialogued with some who are not a fan, and also some who are. Some say ceramics are slicker, some say recoils are super slick etc. Always, the low weight is a plus.
So a question for you lovers of the Rec Recoil in spin guide version. IF the Recoil weight exactly as much as the ceramic (i.e. SIC or cermet) guides AND they cost the same, would you STILL use the Recoils or would you go ceramic? And why? Thanks - asking to try to sort out general feeling as to the OTHER advantages or disadvantages aside from weight. Thanks, Mo Re: For you Rec Recoil spin guide lovers.

Mo I have not used them " recoils " but I have read that some say they " sing " or make noise when casting or retrieving. Try a search on them to see what is said. Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 06/12/2005 10:06AM by bill boettcher. Re: For you Rec Recoil spin guide lovers.

Hi Mo, one other advantage I can think of would be they will give a little under the guide wraps and not crack the epoxy do to lack of guide prep or not enough guide prep. I do like the looks of them. They are harder to set up for spacing on the blank, they could be a little taller in the larger size guides. If they where closer to matching the height of the Fuji concept YSG, I would use nothing but the recoil spin guides, I do like them very much. I would have to say, give them a try, if you take your time setting them up and it is a pole for yourself, I think you will enjoy it for many years. My thoughts, take care, Rich. Mo,
I havent gotten around to trying the RECoil guides but I will in the future.................... Another guide you might want to check out are the Amtak Titans...I just ordered a set to put on a St Croix 4S70MLF. I am amazed at how light they are!! I also like the look of them as they have a light titanium colored frame and the ring is black. As far as what I would use if all variables were even............................? I would probably use them all depending on what I was building or who I was building for. Russ Re: For you Rec Recoil spin guide lovers.
