Dear feoolw rod builders. My name is Mitch, I live in very small town
of Lindstrom, MN. there is not a lot to do around hear. exspicaly when you are disabled do to some dumb balance problem. it is called "Ataxia" But any way, I was woundering if you can tell me where to get colored epoxt resim. if any of you know where to get this item, I would appreciate a reply. mitch the best thing you can do is use the pigments from enamel paints testors is used by many rod builders we use this to get a marble effect on the rods but you can also achieve what your wanting to do also tap pigment works good to.. Re: colored epoxy resin

Hello Fellow rod builders, here is a simple but effective way to color any epoxy. I use this to fill the female ferrule on graphite rods. Simple get some plain old colored chalk, you can usually get a small tub of it at the local dollar store...enough to last a lifetime, then with a small fine grit piece of sandpaper make a small pile of chalk dust. Just mix the dust in to your epoxy and you're in business. It actually take very little to get a good deep color and it does not change the properties of the epoxy. You can mix colors to match just about any desired result.

Go to a marine supply or boat repair place, they will have dye kits for coloring fiberglass resin, which is just epoxy.
