I hate having to wait to see the new rod get out on the water and do its work. Especially if I'm building it for myself.

In actual construction, epoxy is the biggest unknown process as things beyond your control can go wrong and undoing bad epoxy is more than clipping a winding thread.

I can't stand the time it takes to fit the handles. I am so fussy about a perfect fit and no wobble that it takes for ever. I need to make a few reams to speed that up, cuz right now it is all rat tail file work and it is slow.

2nd is the final alignment on the guides, although I found that taking it outside on a sunny day for the final alignment helps.

Just read through all your posts and guide prep seemed to be top of the list for many. I'll say that Mick McComesky just did a set of guides (10 of them!) for me and they are absolutely fantastic. Smooth, gently curved, elegantly feathered to all the sides. Maybe you've got the system all figured out? Anyways, thanks.
