Does Pink Ivory stay Pink?

My mother-in-law wants another fly rod, and she's determined it needs to have as much pink in it as possible. I'm considering turning the grip out of pink ivory, but I need to know if it stays pink after being turned and coated with finish (I tend to use tru-oil). Anybody have experience with this stuff? Or, should I say, anybody willing to admit to having experience with this stuff? Re: Does Pink Ivory stay Pink?

It will darken some, and isn't really "hot pink" to begin with. What I'd recommend, is to get some acrylic or stabilized wood for pen turning in a brighter pink and use that.

Like Tom said, it will darken. I've used it for pen blanks and if you use Tru oil it will darken even more.
If it were my rod I would go with a cork or EVA grip and do the reel seat in a pink plastic or some type. Try Penn State industries. they have a large selection of wood and plastics in various colors. there should be something there that will work. HTH Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
