Help-butt caps

I am a newbie doing my 1st project which is restoring a 30 yr old surf rod that belonged to my late father-in-law. He introduced me to fishing (this is the first rod that he built) and this is the first rod I ever used and I am restoring it exactly as it was built. My problem is in the butt cap. I have searched online and cannot find what I need. The cap is a 1.25" OD x 1.5" long TAN cap. All I can find are black caps. This rod has tremendous sentimental value, and I plan on giving it to my son when it is done as his first surf pole. If anyone could tell me where I could purchase this I would be appreciative.,

Joe , send Neal an Neals Fishing Products an e-mail , or give him a call . He's a great guy to talk with , and you would not believe the stuff he has kicking around . I couldn't find a copper colored SW seat with silver rings and hoods for a restoration and he had one , PERFECT match . Good luck , don't give up . JHD

Joe,

Pay a visit to your local hardware store. Very often they sell caps that are intended for chair or table legs and you may find what you want.
