I am a newbie doing my 1st project which is restoring a 30 yr old surf rod that belonged to my late father-in-law. He introduced me to fishing (this is the first rod that he built) and this is the first rod I ever used and I am restoring it exactly as it was built. My problem is in the butt cap. I have searched online and cannot find what I need. The cap is a 1.25" OD x 1.5" long TAN cap. All I can find are black caps. This rod has tremendous sentimental value, and I plan on giving it to my son when it is done as his first surf pole. If anyone could tell me where I could purchase this I would be appreciative., Re: Help-butt caps

Joe , send Neal an Neals Fishing Products an e-mail , or give him a call . He's a great guy to talk with , and you would not believe the stuff he has kicking around . I couldn't find a copper colored SW seat with silver rings and hoods for a restoration and he had one , PERFECT match . Good luck , don't give up . JHD Got Fish ? Re: Help-butt caps

Joe,
Pay a visit to your local hardware store. Very often they sell caps that are intended for chair or table legs and you may find what you want. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
