Late last week I reached an agreement with two of the larger newspaper conglomerates to buy advertising for both the National Rod Builders Show and the TackleWorks directory. Being able to cover 250 newspapers in one fell swoop makes things much easier on my end (I have no secretary nor staff of any kind) and should allow us to greatly broaden the marketing of both these ventures over the coming months. The idea is to reach a great number of general interest fishermen over several large geographic areas. As the details are ironed out I'll update the specifics. I do fully expect to see a substanstial amount of growth in the Charlotte show because of this and certainly expect to see more fishermen across the U.S. become aware of TackleWorks.Org.

Simply incredible! No group of members suplying funds or corperate officers to help and you still manage to do things for the good of the craft basicaly for free to the public. Just how many cards are you holding up those sleeves?

No bad luck or wishes intended, but I fear that once you are gone or no longer actively involved in these sorts of ventures that most of the informational aspect of rod building sharing will fall back into the hands of those who wish to charge a fee for every little thing. I like this site and the magazine tremendously, but I do wish more people were doing similar things so that all our eggs were not in one basket. It is a very good basket, but the danger of losing it all in one fall is certainly a reality at some point.

Richard and All,
I fear that every time I read something else unselfish and incredible Tom does.
He could quit this now and start giving seminars on time management.

I don't think you could get him off the water to do time management. He would only find ways to perfect those smallmouth flies.
