I previously posted about my Sig V 8'4" 4 weight that I had pulled off the dryer that was my best effort to date. Well, I gave the finish time to cure and got to take it out and cast it yesterday. WOW! It does cast nice. I think if I was a better caster, it would really shine, but I was still able to throw line well beyond what I was able to with my old factory 4 wt. And at "normal" ranges that I use the 4 weight for, it is almost effortless and extremely accurate. Truly an awesome blank! Re: Finally (part 2)

at a recent rod bash, a much better caster than i took my rod for a test. 2 double hauls later, the entire line was laid out, first time i'd seen my backing off the spool since i wound it on. not that you couldn't do that with another rod, and i don't have the technique down to do it myself, but nice to know i wouldn't be limited by the rod. he said he really liked the rod. for what it's worth...
