Tiny trim bands

Whats your secret to making and creating tiny trim bands on the ends of wraps and having ONE tiny wrap of the same color up inside the wrap. Something like: Black wrap with two tiny trim bands in any lighter color, one 1/2 way down the wrap, and the other at the very end.

Small trim bands within the wrap are easier than at the ends, in my opinion. Cut a length of the trim band color thread. Insert it under the main color wrap at least three turns from where you want it to show and wrap over it. When you want the trim band to show, simply wrap it one wrap along with the main color thread (with the trim band outside the main thread). After one turn has been completed, turn the trim thread back under the main thread and turn the rod just enough so that the trim thread is caught under the main thread, then tuck it back under the main thread and trun at least oen wrap (or two), thengently pull the trim band out from under the main thread and back it up until only one turn of the trim thread shows. Do a couple more wraps and trim off the trim thread. Done.

If you run the trim thread inside the main thread, then you do not need to do the "tuck under and pull back". Insterad, just go under the main wrap to hold the trim wrap and do a couple of tunrns to secure it, ensure that you have exactly one wrap showing (adjust as required) do a coupel more turns and trim the trim band.

Multiple single trim bands of different colors are possible by inserting more than one trim thread at a time and "revealing" the one you want wherever you need it.

Good luck.

Dear Dr. - Your email is hidden and we can not communicate with you. Go to my control center and reconfirm your email address and things will work a lot better. On the trim band question there is a very lengthy post concerning narrow trim bands by the nail knot method. Search under the name of Bill Stevens and look at message number 95 or do a search for nail knots and you will get all the information you ever thought of getting on how to do the narrow bands.

Mr Stevens,

Thank you, I had NO Idea about "confirming" my email addy, I have now done so, and if you'd try once again and let me know if it works now, I'd apreciate it :-)

...and THANKS for the reply/narrowed searching option, I found the post.
