chipped blank

i have been given a rod repair job on a fiberglass blank that the owner wants new guides put on....well, the guides had been removed already and upon inspecting the blank...there are several areas on the blank where it was covered by the underwrap that have been chipped off and you can see the white fiberglass (the blank is black)..the chips are small and the rest of the blank seems fine.....

any suggestions on what to do........should i just wrap right over the chips and forget it or is the structural integrity of the blank comprimised?
I don't think the chips are deep.

any info would be appreciated

thank you

This may be wrong......but I'd fill in the chips mostly but not over full, with rod wrap epoxy AFTER I touched them up with a black Sharpie marker, then I'd wrap over the whole deal.

Wrap over them using non translucent thread.

I would do that same as Duane. Fill them will rodbond, sand flush and wrap as usual. Do this for aesthetics. Personally, I would not warranty the job and give the customer the reason why. Glass rods are extremely durable and can take a lot of abuse, but to me it would be like building on a "second". Don't promise anything beyond what you are comfortable.
