Does anyone know of a reasonably priced 15' 10/11 wt spey blank.
I have built on the Forecast 14' and that was great, but some of the big Salmon rivers here in Scotland are easier to fish with the 15 footer. I am also looking for a nice wood insert uplocking reel seat to fit, ideally one that doesn't cost more than the blank. Thanks Dave Olley Re: 15' spey blank

Dave,
It depends on your definition of reasonably priced. Diamondback and St. Croix both have a 15 ft, 10/11 wt spey blank for around $180 US. I have a Hardy blank that I paid about $250 for a few years ago. One of these days I'll build it. It even came with nickel-silver ferrulle plugs. I take it that you reside in Scotland. Have you tried any of the European manufacturers? Hope this helps. -John Re: 15' spey blank

Hi John
I have looked at European blanksand the high end US blanks ($300 +) The reasons that I tend to source blanks in the US are excellent quality, wide choice and superb value for money. If Dan Craft made Spey blanks my life would be complete! Regards Dave Re: 15' spey blank

Dave,
I noticed that Andy Dear (Lamar Reel Seats) will be closing out his Burkheimer blanks, beginning in June. I'm not sure where they will be priced - they aren't cheap - but they are an incredible rod. Wayne Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
