What is Pewter good for?

I ordered HT Metallic Pewter off of the internet, expected something a bit lighter in color. Now I've had this stuff for a couple years and still not figured out a use for it. Any color combos/blank colors you guys use this on?

I've done a rod with pewter along with royal blue metallic using black and silver as accent colors. Kind of like wearing a blue sport coat with grey pants!
I did a chevron where the pewter was the underwrap and royal blue and the lighter blue metallic were used along with gold and silver for the chevrons.
No guts no glory!!! you can always cut it off

I use it occasionally for trim bands with green wraps. Used it for thunderbirds once with pretty good results.

Matches pretty close to Fuji titanium and the dark Forecast Ti finishes.

I find it makes a very nice understated trim wrap or inlay with many colors if you are after a finished but subtle effect.

I used it recently on the guide wraps of a heavy jig rod (posted a few days ago) with Copper accent and Mettler Salmon. Great colour to assist contrast in this style of guide wrap. It isn't however, something I would use a lot of regularly. I agree with the other comments above. It has its place with other colors.

Some pewters are a horse of a different color. Gudebrod's looks like my grandmother's antique pewter mugs that have been sitting on a shelf for the last 100 years - DULL ! Try Sulky pewter metallic ; lots brighter and a whole lot easier to work with.

I've used the pewter to accent the sides on a three wrap band of cabarnet red metallic. Main thread black, two turns of pewter, three turns of red, two turns of pewter and back to black again.
