A guy gave me an older Garcia boat rod and I am wanting to rebuild it. This morning I was stripping off all of the old guides and noticed that is ferruled between the foregrip and reel seat. The reel seat is actually the female section of the ferrule and the foregrip (male end)slides down flush into the reel seat. Now I know I dont have anything like this laying around nor have I seen any, but I havent been looking either, so do any of you know where a person could find something similar to this or any suggestions on what to do to get around this if one is not available?
Thanks in advance, Noel Re: Suggestions???

Noel,
Does the rod also have a female ferrule in the butt so it can function as a fly rod as well as a spin by reversing the grip? Garcia and Wright McGill made a bunch of those in the 70s and 80s. I am not sure what you want to do to change it but ferrules are available through Sevier and others. Dan Craft Dan Craft Enterprises Re: Suggestions???

Noel, I did a rebuild on a rod like that last year. After I took a look at the thing I decided to just wack of the ferrule. Insert a graphite blank end - make the connection under the foregrip and go from there.
