Have anyone else had experiences with the ls supreme cracking at the front and back transition between guide and blank? This has happened to me on two rods. I use pretty thin coats. Could this be the problem? I built a rod using flex coat and didn`t have this problem occur. The coats where thicker though...
Thank you! Harald Re: LS supreme cracking problem

Chances are there wasn't enough guide foot prep. When prepping guide feet I don't just make a nice ramp for the thread to climb up. I also grind quite a bit off the top of the foot to make it thinner in hopes it may flex a little with the blank.
I have more of a problem with threads moving under epoxy and leaving a white 'crack' (although it really isn't a crack) at the time of initial rod flex...after curing. Anyway, best of luck! Jay Re: LS supreme cracking problem

You might have used it before it had cured fully. I use 2 thin coats also. I now wait a full 5 days after the last coat before fishing a rod. Better safe than sorry. Good luck. Re: LS supreme cracking problem
