LS supreme cracking problem

Have anyone else had experiences with the ls supreme cracking at the front and back transition between guide and blank? This has happened to me on two rods. I use pretty thin coats. Could this be the problem? I built a rod using flex coat and didn`t have this problem occur. The coats where thicker though...

Thank you!

Harald

Chances are there wasn't enough guide foot prep. When prepping guide feet I don't just make a nice ramp for the thread to climb up. I also grind quite a bit off the top of the foot to make it thinner in hopes it may flex a little with the blank.

I have more of a problem with threads moving under epoxy and leaving a white 'crack' (although it really isn't a crack) at the time of initial rod flex...after curing. Anyway, best of luck!

You might have used it before it had cured fully. I use 2 thin coats also. I now wait a full 5 days after the last coat before fishing a rod. Better safe than sorry. Good luck.
