Which size Fuji skeleton reel seats to use?

I'd like to try one of the Fuji skeleton fly/spin seats where you insert a cork or wood insert on a fly rod. I see that they come in 15mm and 17mm. Which is the proper size to use on most graphite rods?

Thanks

-John

'Cause fly blanks don't have as beefy butts as spin ones, 15 mm ones will fit in the most cases, I believe.

I think the Fuji 16 is the standard on most fly rods. Some of the bluewater fly rods for really big stuff will have the 17 and 18 size.

On fly rods, I use the smallest one that will still fit over the butt section. In almost every case, that's an SKM16. However, I have had a couple of instances when I was building Lamiglass Perigrees, where I had to go up to a SKM17. The older Perigrees had very large diameter butt sections, which necessitated the slightly larger seat.

Now, when I build spinning rods, I don't use anything smaller than a 17 mm seat. The difference is that, on a spinning rod, your hand will be right on top of the seat. The larger diameter seats are more comfortable to almost everyone (except for folks with really small hands).
