Blank for lake trout jigging?

Looking for a recommendation for a casting blank to use for 3/8 to 1oz. jigs for lake trout. I really like building on the SCIII blanks for flyrods, but have never ventured into the casting blank arena. Most of the fish avg. 5-6lbs, with an occasional 10lb. surprise. Thanks for any suggestions!

If you like the SCIII flyrods, try the SCIII casting blanks. I don't think you will be disappointed. I like 6'6" for jigging. Just match the lure weight to your liking.

Thanks Kevin, I appreciate your reply. Actually, I've been leaning toward the SCIII AC70MHF casting blank, but just wondered if there were any "favorites" out there. I really like the way these SCIII's look when finished so in the end I'll probably stick with this blank. Thanks again!

Mike,

This is off your topic but a few years ago you posted questions about Seth-Green rods in the Finger Lakes. That's my kind of fishing for Lake Trout on Keuka Lake. Did you ever figure out components for the Seth-Green rod? I too am using 3rd generation rods and I have an interest in building one or more for myself.

When jigging for lake trout in deep water what do you use and what is the best jigging method. Thank You
