So are most all epoxies. You can run the gamut from hardware store Devon epoxy to a specialty epoxy like RodBond and you won't find any of them lacking in strength or ability to withstand the fishing environment. The stuff used on golf clubs would likely be fine as well.
Epoxy strength is never an issue with regard to use on fishing rods. How you use the epoxy and prepare your surfaces, however, is where any problems usually arise. ............... Re: EPOXY

I used golf club epoxy for reel seat/grip installation on a couple of rods with no problems. Prefer Rod Bond though for its physical properties, no dripping or running.
