Heart weave help

I'm building up a fly rod for my daughter. I had her pick out the colors and ended up with pink and purple. I think it will actually look pretty sharp if I do it right. She wants hearts on it as well. I know there's a pattern out there for hearts on a solid backgournd, but I can't find one in the Clemen's book that I have. I''ve done weaves before, just not hearts.

Can anyone give me a detailed description of how to do this?

Thanks,

In Clemens custom rod thread art there is a pattern for a heart. I almost did one in the same colors for my daughter, but ended up using a diamond pattern with an underwrap instead. I don't have my book right now, but will give you the pattern number tonight if no one else comes up with it before then.

send me your email and I will send you the written instructions on making the heart wrap - I have it from an old booklet on weaves I got in the 70's from Clemens when I was a member of the RodCrafters

I'm with Mike, are you looking to do a crosswrap/buttwrap, or a weave? TEHre is a big difference between teh 2.

If doing a HEart buttwrap, you might have to tinker with teh # of passes & the number of background threads to get teh top curves right. If following the instructions in CRTA, I personally will not do more than 5 passes, because the curves end up looking flat. I know adjusting the background threads, maybe wrapping 2 at a time - will change how the pattern looks. I usually play with VW to get everything looking right before I do anything.

I'm trying to do a butt wrap, not a weave. Sorry for the confusion. I should probably just break down and buy visualwrap or some more books at some point. Thanks for any help.
