I have a client who has the 2nd and 3rd sections of his Sage solidly stuck together, any suggestions for getting them apart without causing damage
Thanks Owen Re: stuck rod sections

Hi Owen
Take an ice cube and rub it on the male side .It should contract enough to seperate the sections. Terry Re: stuck rod sections

I also have a Sage rod that likes to get itself well "stuck together" on a regular basis. My solution is 2 small pieces of a puffy, holey shelf liner material (if you check you may find that the "master of your kitchen" has some of this material on hand that she uses to open tight jar lids). Just lay a small piece of the shelf liner over each rod section and twist and pull at the same time - it's amazing how well (and easy) this works - even when every other "tried and true" method fails. You'll never catch me fishing without a little of this material tucked away in my fishing vest. Hope this will work for you the way it does for me. Re: stuck rod sections

If you are going to really pull the sections, best to have two people, one on each section. The behind the knees pull works pretty well in no help is available. The trick is to pull in a straight line. Re: stuck rod sections

Get and keep handy a pair of rubberized gardening gloves - great for gripping the sections when pulling. Re: stuck rod sections

Then make sure to clean both the male and female sections thoroughly. When they're clean, use a ferrule lube like the U-40 product to make sure that they don't get that stuck again. Then, don't overtighten when assembling the rod. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
