Guide advice please?

In general, what style guides do folks recommend for the running guides in a concept set-up?

I'm looking at light to medium weight salt-water spinning rods, 7-9 ft long, approx 10# test line, throwing metal to 1+ oz.

Should I continue with the single-foot, A-frame style guides right to the tip, or transition to single-foot fly rod type guides for the smaller sizes with the line being closer to the blank?

Any advantages or disadvantages to each?

Thanks.

I use very low frame fly type guides. They're plenty strong and keep the line close to the blank. Also, being lower, then don't tend to get hung up on stuff when transporting and storing.

I can't say there would be much difference between the higher A-frame type and the lower frame fly type on a rod of that power. The small difference in weight would be definite, but slight. On a lighter rod you might feel the difference or realize it in slightly longer casts, but on your heavier rod, I doubt it really makes that much difference.
