salt water fly rod

Hi guys,
Well i'm going to build a salt water fly rod a 9wt. I want use American Tackle's new Titan guides. This blank is Lamiglas #Gf 1089 . So what size guides ? All ineed is a starting point. Not sure if i should sart with a 20 or 16 then what? thank you Marcel Charest Re: salt water fly rod

Hi Marcel! Kind of up to you--a lot of guys move up to #20 stripping guides around 10wt, but I've personally never been convinced I get ANY more performance gains past #16. If I were building it, I'd probably go #16 stipper, #12 tamer, 3 - #8sf's, 6 - #7sf's, #7 tip. Re: salt water fly rod

I agree with John. No need to start with a #20. I built a SCV10wt and used a 16/12 setup.
#16 and a #12(tamer) in the NIC's, and then a NIF #8(or2), and then 7's on out. Should be a sweet setup. RB Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
