Make sure you use color preserver if using regular thread with Permagloss or epoxy. If you use varnish, use Gudebrod 822 varnish and you will get a good result too without the CP. I think the regular 5274 with 3 or 4 thin coats of Gudebrod 822 is a nice match to the old brown Fenwicks. You may get the same results with NCP 5274 and any finish but I haven't tried it so can't say. If you want the white trim bands to go with it, use NCP white for those.

The SEARCH Engine here at RBO is really "tops" and makes quick work of this sort of thing. Best Wishes, Cliff Hall, Gainesville, FL.

SEARCH = FENWICK + CHESTNUT (Message + Subject)

(5) Re: Fenwick Chestnut Brown Thread Dean Pertot, January 28, 2005 Dear Ron: I believe the thread you seek is the Gudebrod 5274 nylon. We carry it in stock at all times. Thanks & Regards, Dean Pertot www.donartrods.com

Hi Rick, - We do in fact have the Foulproof guides in stock. Just measure the outside of each ring and give us a call toll-free 1-888-946-2427. The thread color is probably either 541 Medium Brown, or 5274 Chestnut Brown. Best wishes, Ron Schneider, Schneider's Rod Shop
