Moving guides, how do you remove pieces of varnish/epoxy?

There is minor leftovers of varnish/epoxy, how do I remove these without doing damage to the surface fibres of the blank???
The rod is an Berkley series 1, made in graphite. Re: Moving guides, how do you remove pieces of varnish/epoxy?

If the finish is on the blank it should be easily removed with a plastic butter knife or a finger nail.Do not use a steel knife as this may dig into the blank. Freddwhy (Rapt-Ryte) Re: Moving guides, how do you remove pieces of varnish/epoxy?

Warm it up with a hair dryer, should come off with a fingernail. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
